“Julie O. aka Julie Outrage is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, filmmaker, and producer with a style ranging from; blues, rock, R&B, hip-hop, experimental, and jazz. She was born in West Africa, spent several years living in Brooklyn, and is based in Washington D.C.

At 15 years old she picked up a guitar and dove straight into playing Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Rage Against the Machine - eventually leading her to become a jazz guitar major in her undergraduate years which influenced her now genre-bending instrumental and original music. She currently produces and provides session work for various artists and film projects. Her most recent projects were nominated for a WAMMIE (Washington Area Music Award).

During her time in New York, Julie performed in quintessential NYC venues including Bowery Ballroom and Pianos. In 2014, Julie Outrage was named The Deli Magazine's Best of NYC Emerging Artist. Her style has been called funk-rock with a jazz guitar influence; a feel encompassing hip hop-inspired & spoken word lyrics.

In January 2021, Julie released her 5th self-produced single, “Slow Down” arranged and mixed by Jaz Williams (credits: Mac Miller, Kap G, Bone Thugs) featuring the horn section from Washington D.C. band, Aztec Sun. Slow Down, is available on all streaming platforms.”

She has most recently started a partnership with Fender as a Fender Player Series guitarist.

“Julie Outrage is a tour de force no matter how you’re introduced to her. Never one to back down from a fight, Julie’s music is mostly acoustic guitar-based, but acts like a powder keg of raw emotion. You’ll know pretty quickly that this lady is not screwing around. Her honesty might be brutal, but Julie’s vision is always complete.”
